Posted in Uncategorized on April 25th, 2010

Lusitania was always a target. The sinking of the Lustania was alot the cause of World War one.On may 1st 1915 the ship was healing to Liverpool.Unknown to her passengers but probably no secret to the Germans, almost all her hidden cargo consisted of  contraband destined for the British war effort. The afternoon of may 6 a torpedo fired by German submarine u 20 was attacked from the side.Seconds later another explosion ripped the liner off from Lusitania. The shipped was on its way to sinking life boats and jackets crashed into the water and people was trying to be saved from death or sinking with Lusitania. The majority of passengers had no chance of surrvival but still made a effort. Then about a half a hour later the big shipped sunk beneath the sea. That made the everything bad for America two years later America declared war the Lusitania caused alot of problems from Germany to America. This connects to the titanic another big ship that represented alot and sunk ending many of lives. Both ships was a big symbol in the world and they both sunk  and killed thousands of people. It was devistating for those who did not surrvive.

Sacco-vanzetti Case

Posted in Uncategorized on April 25th, 2010

April 15th 1920 fredrick parmenter was shot dead carrying two boxes containg the payroll of a shoe factory. AS soon as the two robbers took the 15,00$ They got into the car containg several men and fled the scene. Several witnesses said the robbers look italian.A large number of  were questioned but eventually the authorities decided to charge Bartolomeo Vanzetti and Nicola Sacco  with the murders. Although the two men did not have criminal records, it was argued that they had committed the robbery to acquire funds for their political campaign. The trial started on 21st May, 1921. The main evidence against the men was that they were both carrying a gun when arrested. Some people who saw the crime taking place they identified Bartolemeo Vanzetti and Nicola Sacco as the killers and robbers. Not everybody agreed with the people that was accused.Whether they agreed or not did not matter.Summer of 1927 it was clear that both Nicola Sacco and Bartolemelo Vanzetti were going to be put to death for the murder of Fredrick Parmenter. The Sacco-vanzetti Case connects to rascism we experience now in 2010 just because they are iltalian they have no right to be killed.

What does he mean by the “Great War of Yankee Agression”?

Posted in Uncategorized on April 25th, 2010

The great war of yankee agression i feel is America going to a weaker country and bullying them ,trying to take over their country. That is also a form of imperialism it is also based on domination showing the power within America.America has great power a high poupulation and they also have weapons of mass desruction and it is easy for america to agress because they are greater in numbers.

liberty bonds

Posted in Uncategorized on April 23rd, 2010

A Liberty Bond was a special type of war bond that was sold in the United States to support the allied cause in World War I. It could be redeemed for the original value of the bond plus interest. It was created by Secretary of the Treasury William Gibbs McAdoo to raise money from war-supporting Americans by selling the bonds. Liberty bonds support war but it is better to buy them because you may even recieve more than the original. They more liberty bonds they get get the more effects the people that did not support world war one. William gibbs McAdoo created the bonds to gain more than what he had it was basicly a investment that supported the cause in world war one.

SOMEBODY BlABBED

Posted in Uncategorized on April 23rd, 2010

In the picture i feel that they are basicly telling people do not tell on evrything that is taking place om the ship. They want people to keep there mouth shut all there production will be ruined if people were to find out about the ship moving and the war production. The hand out the water i feel signifies people that are dying or it represents all the bad things people are doing on the ship dat they do not want anybody to know. The word of everthing that is going on in the ship has been spread and in the pic that is the prime example of what happens if you tell.

Civil War Alternatives

Posted in Uncategorized on March 12th, 2010

Sometimes I think what would life be like if it wasn’t  for the civil war?

There is many alternitives to the civil war violence did nto have to be a choice. What would the course of American history and the quality of our national life have been like over the past 110 years or so if the U.S. had not fought the Civil War? It is hard to imagine “America,” in any of its aspects, without that harsh conflict of 1861-1865, but such imagining is worth the musing.

war doesent always have to be the first option.Yo can have peace and resolve all the problems you have as one to keep peace and tranquilty.Im sure theres people that loss family members to the civil if we would of use a alternitive there family members because of lived a little bit longer.

I will start with talking about the pickett’s charge…..

The picketts charge was a major assualt ordered by confederate Gen and Robert Lee against Maj.Gen and the union of George Meades posiontion his union on the cemetary ridge july 3,1863 the last day of the battle of Gettysburg which took place during the civil war.The assualt in a way was predicted by Gen James Longstreet and was not avoidable after the assualt people never fully recoverd mentally. The farthest point reached by the attack has been referred to the high water mark of confedaracy. The charge is named after Maj. Gen. George Pickett one of the three confederates who led the assualt on Gen longstreet. This is comparable to the way people feel wanting to rebel against people effected them wrongfully. This connects to alot of situations that occured in the civil war.

Is Nat Turner Crazy?

Posted in Uncategorized on March 10th, 2010

Nat Turner  rebeled slaves killed  up to 55 white people the highest number of deaths caused by slave uprisings in the South. Alot of save owners was killed. The rebellion was put down within a few days, but Turner survived in hidin in a ceirtain area for several months afterward. He was a mistreated slave who had no education and was used to being scared of his surroundings. So he took out previous anger on slaveowners. As being a slave he was only learning how to hurt people to get what you want so he acted in ways he was treated which turned to be deadly. He is not crazy that is the way he thinks. People many focus on the bad things he does but forget about the good. With black people they mostly focus on the bad things they do never the good Nat turner also had good things he did and it was never mentioned. His actions connect to real life if you go through something that badly effects you you would want to rebel which will make you feel better it does not make you crazy
